Deadline for Registration: 31 May

11 and 12 June 2013

Harwell, Rutherford Appleton Laboratory (UK)

The European Council has recently agreed on funding the Copernicus programme (formerly GMES) within its budget for the period 2014 – 2020. While this agreement still requires approval from the European Parliament, this is a clear step forward towards sustainable operational Copernicus Services.

On this occasion, we invite all users of the current services for atmosphere, delivered in the context of the MACC-II project, as well as potential new users and interested parties to attend the User workshop of Copernicus Services for Atmosphere. Future operational Copernicus atmosphere services are shaping right now!

This user workshop will

  • bring together experienced users of the current pre-operational services for atmosphere and new or potential users to share their experiences and questions
  • collect feedback on the current services for atmosphere
  • discuss requirements for the near-term evolution of services
  • initiate the analysis of long-term user needs

This user workshop is jointly organized by MACC-II (the EU FP7 project currently delivering pre-operational atmosphere services) and GMES-PURE (the EU FP7 project analysing long-term Copernicus requirements for the atmosphere and ocean domains). Its first day under MACC-II auspices will focus on feedback and show cases around the current pre-operational services and their evolution needs towards the early operational phase from 2014. The second day will be organised by GMES-PURE, with the purpose to extend the current user requirements base into the longer-term and including implications for the observing systems.

If you want to contribute to shaping the short-term and long-term evolution of the Copernicus Services for Atmosphere, this is the event you need to attend.
